The importance of grounding yourself daily…

20th April 2021

For many of us, it may seem that our lives have increased pace and the separation of home and work blurred because of the changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst this has seen a greater number of people potentially accessing working from home opportunities saving on work commute time, it can have the effect of literally always being “at work” in some capacity. This may be seemingly simple things like checking your email after hours, or more significantly working when you are unwell. This negative impact is starting to be referred to as “zoom or teams fatigue” in reference to the way staff / client meetings are being conducted; and is becoming a very real issue with changing work culture looking less likely to return to pre-COVID environments anytime soon.

How do we ensure that we are looking after ourselves, our families, and our community? We need to do more than establish good work boundaries, both self-imposed and with employers. If you are honest with yourself, if safe to do, and looked within my guess is that you would discover a spectrum of dysregulation, from low level agitation to debilitating anxiety and burnout. How do you bring yourself back to homeostasis – our bodies natural regulation? Grounding can be one of those ways that is free, doesn’t require any equipment or special space. All it requires is a little bit of time. In this video, we are going to take you through a short grounding exercise to start or end your day. Come join me
